Training is a essential part of any employees job. Ensuring staff are competent at able to do their job effectively is key. Managers can ensure this by providing effective training. Providing training will contribute towards making sure employees are competent in health and safety. As well as avoiding accidents and ill health, which can lead to decreased costs of accidents and occupational ill health.

By law employees need to provide and relevant information and training to keep them safe. Training in the safe use of work equipment is requirement by both general health and safety legislation (Health & Safety at Work Act 1974) and more specifically the working at height regulations (Working at Height Regulations 2005). Employers are obliged to train employees to safely use any equipment provided, in addition to  which all users and/or anyone who controls the way work at height is undertaken must ensure they are competent to work at height.

We provide training on powered access equipment to Operator and Demonstrator standard as part of the Internationally recognised IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) accredited scheme.  Also under the IPAF banner is the CAP (competent assessed persons) scheme for powered access engineers.  More general technical training is also a feature of our portfolio; generally provided for engineering employees and sub-contractors through our technical academy.

We also provide bespoke training."One size fits all" does not always apply, and increasingly we are asked to provide training specific to the customer's environment and applications.  In this situation we can adapt course material along with recognised training methods to match with the user's requirement.

Our recommendation for course content, duration and number of delegates will follow industry guidelines and there are no shortcuts.  Customer specific training will provide a safe and effective method of training for employer's, employees and sub-contractors in your specific environment.
