With amount of information available about working at height, we have condensed it down to three key points to help you get started with the basics.

You only need to look at the statics to see the fatal injuries working at height can cause. Falls from height are one of the biggest causes of workplace fatalities and major injuries, including falls from ladders or roofs. Many businesses still overlook the importance of working safely from height. Therefore here are three points you may not have known before about working at height:
  • Falls from height are still the biggest single cause of workplace fatality in the UK. Slips, trips and falls have a combined estimated number of working days lost falls came to a estimated 567 000 working days lost.
  • The Working at Height Regulations 2005 apply to all industrial sectors and relates to work at height where there is a risk of a fall could cause injury. The main aim of the Regulations is to ensure that all work at height is planned, controlled and carried out safely.
  • Whatever equipment you use it is important training is provided to avoid injury or falls. All those working at height must have experience and be trained on how to reduce or avoid injury, as well as how to use appropriate equipment.
