Push-around vertical lifts – commonly referred to as personnel lifts, PAVs, man-lifts – are working at height solutions that offer supreme simplicity and ease of use for straight up access. Push-arounds are ideal if you need something simple, if you’re restricted by narrow doorways or floor loadings, if you’re operating the equipment in a public access environment, or you’re just looking for an alternative to steps and ladders.
(Can’t see what you’re looking for? If you need up and out to reach over something take a look at our booms, or if you want a machine that can drive, see our scissorsor vertical lifts.)
Ideal for simple tasks such as periodic maintenance of lighting, HVAC, or other overhead services, a push-around scissor is a platform raised by a traditional scissor pack, the elevation is powered by a battery pack, but the machine is moved from one work area to another by the operator pushing it.
These platforms are commonly used in facilities maintenance work, in HVAC installation and maintenance, and in warehouses.
These platforms can be good for areas where floor loading is an issue, as they are often lighter than their scissor-lift cousins. They’re also often smaller, so they work well in small spaces, or where storage space is at a premium. Elevation is again powered by a battery pack, but the platform is lifted by a series of nesting mast sections.
These platforms are commonly used in facilities, retail, warehouses, libraries and archive stores.
These platforms often weigh even less that the vertical mast lifts, and because they have no battery pack at all they can be good for applications where access to mains power for charging is restricted. There are a huge variety of non-powered platforms, which are elevated in numerous different ways, what they share though is that they provide vertical lift and are entirely powered by the operator - ideal in situations where a power source is not readily available.
Personnel lift is a generic term that can refer to any push-around platform, but is also used to describe small self-propelled platforms
