The Challenges

The manufacturer faced several key challenges within at one of their plants:

  • Needed to access heights of up to 4 metres: Need a solution that will be suitable to work near overhead conveyers.
  • Safety concerns: The use of traditional steps and ladders posed a risk of slips, trips, and falls.
  • Lack of productivity: When using steps or traditional ladders in confined spaces within production areas, these typically require two people and with restriction on task duration impacted productivity

Our Solution

HLS installed the Hugo Lift, a push-around vertical lift on site

Key areas of the solution included:

  • Solo operation: The Hugo Lift can turn a two-man job into a one-man job, enabling the operator to use both hands up to 4.2 metres.

  • Increase operator safety: Safety features including platform interlocking gates and automatic braking. This provided additional layers of safety providing peace of mind for workers and minimises the risk of accidents.

  • Ease of use: Navigate through tight spaces due to its compact size
