Stuart

Stuart leads the way in terms of hard service to working at height, over the years he has found solutions for all manner of challenging situations. Stuart was involved in establishing JLG in the UK (we still sell their products – check them out here); he also introduced the UK to an excellent little Italian machine from Braviisol (we still sell that one too – check it out here); Stuart has extensive experience of all manner of equipment from ladders and scaffolding to powered access. If you’re looking for an encyclopaedic knowledge of what options are available to you then give us a call and we’ll put his brain into action for you! Oh, and Stuart heads up our bespoke department, so if your needs are just that bit specialised know that you will be in safe hands 😊

Rachel

“Positive, adventurous and competitive with just a hint of sarcasm”

Rachel is our number one account manager, she and her team are here to answer all your questions and ensure our relationship runs smoothly right from the start. We don’t let Rachel out of the office too often – she’s too valuable – but if you’re lucky enough to be based near our head offices in Leeds then you just might get to meet her in real life. For everyone else there is the comfort of know that Rachel’s own brand of straight-talking is only a phone call away. Rachel has helped clients from FTSE 100 companies to SMEs with various work at height projects, and regularly gets involved in putting together justifications for capital spend. Rachel is confident recommending all types of platform, from platform steps through to MEWPs.

Karen

“You only live once, but if you do it right once is enough”

Karen spends most of her time helping clients stay up to date with training and servicing, but she can also be found running around the parts department, gathering together information for clients, and generally oiling the wheels of the HLS machine. Karen likes nothing more than running training projects for clients and recently completed a re-training project for a major food and drink manufacturer - no mean feat considering she had to organise night-shifts, weekend shifts and hire in equipment for the delegates to train on. You’ll also hear from Karen when your planned maintenance agreement is due for renewal, or when we’re getting ready to send an engineer out to keep your equipment running well.

Nicola

"Methodical and thorough with the memory of an elephant"

Nicola heads up our back-office team, she’s a whirlwind of order processing, invoicing, and credit control, and wouldn’t have it any other way. Nicola holds a huge amount of information in her amazing memory banks (don’t worry it’s all backed up!) and is always ready to assist whenever a more in-depth approach is needed. Nicola’s attention to detail is second-to-none and she’s happy to deploy her skills to ensure customers are sent the right information at the right time. Nicola also keeps our engineers in check, helping them to deliver the levels of service our clients have come to expect.

Lorraine

“Pink nails, professional and a lover of Gin”

Our back-office hero, Lorraine is not often to be found answering the phones or delivering machines, she’s much more at home building spreadsheets and databases. A management accountant by trade, we don’t hold that against her, but rather direct her natural talents towards ensuring our clients have the best possible experience of working with us. Lorraine spearheads our process improvement efforts and generally keep us all on course, her omnipotence has earned her a number of nicknames at HLS-central, if you’re lucky enough to speak to her she might share them with you!
